Loud music, silent auction
November 15, 2007

OK, so you couldn't get tickets to see Stevie Wonder, k.d. lang, Morrissey, Keane, and other folks who played the Bank of America Pavilion this season. But, you can bid on large paintings (30- by-30 inches) of these and other headliners that were created for the Bank of America program Rock & Art. Tonight's Rock & Art Auction features oils, acrylics, and mixed media pieces by more than 30 artists, and proceeds from the 7 p.m. event will benefit the local organizations Action for Boston Community Development and Artists for Humanity. Some of the paintings are from the 2006 season. Admission: $10 (includes munchies). The Opera House, 539 Washington St., 617-228-6000. www.rockandart.org

Rock & Art is a Bank of America Pavilion program that pairs visual artists with national touring musicians. Now in its second season, a large-scale painting (30” x 30”) was created for headlining artists that played the Pavilion’s 2007 concert season. Many paintings have been signed by the performers. This fall, Live Nation will host a charity auction at the Opera House on November 15th at which all paintings will be offered for sale with proceeds benefiting local non-profit organizations: Action for Boston Community Development and Artists For Humanity.

Auction tickets are currently on-sale at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 617.228.6000. General admission tickets are $10.00.
